YOU HAVE THE SEED OF GREATNESS
For some time now, I have observed many youths like you and I who for a number of reasons have lost sight of the future ahead of them, settled for a low life or even subscribed to the path that brings only regrets and gnashing of teeth. I am not an old man yet; but I have observed life a bit and have come to see that nearly every child grows up with desire and aspirations of a great life. Unfortunately, a great number of them lose that focus as they grow up. Some lose that craving for a brighter life due to early challenges in life such as poor performance in school, delay in securing admission and failure to learn a trade and settle down in life. That’s why on Youth Mentor this week, I want to help you understand who you really are so that you can take delivery of all that you have the capacity to do.
One of the first things I want you to realise is that you have the seed of greatness in you and you should fight with all you’ve got to ensure you don’t allow anything or anybody take away the consciousness of this reality from you.
I am not telling you this to make you feel happy or to motivate you; I want you to be aware of this reality in your life and live accordingly. It’s also important that I bring this truth to your notice because if you don’t know this, you settle for lower life than the one God has in store for you.
In fact, if you are of faith in Christ Jesus, you even have a purer breed of this greatness seed. Your faith in Christ Jesus launches you into a realm where you are not under the influence of the Devil and have been empowered to overcome the negative forces that are present and operational in our world.
Irrespective of the background you came from, the challenges that you have faced in life and how much the odds are against your becoming very great, I want you to know with certainty: God put the seed of greatness in you and He wants you to manifest it for your world.
God created every human being with a seed of greatness because He created man in His image and deposited a good dose of His attributes and nature in him. In fact, I heard the renowned teacher of the Word of God Myles Munroe explain that just like any manufacturer, God built you and I to succeed as a way of ensuring that His design is a success. Just like every parent wants his offspring to succeed and the manufacturer wants his product to succeed, God wants you to succeed as a proof that He did a good job making you! Of course, you can choose to fail by your negligence; but that’s most certainly God’s design for you.
Despite the deposit of greatness in mankind, we find that there are many people who go through life without any relevance to their world let alone attain any level of greatness. I believe that those who fall short of the greatness that God had prepared for them did so, not because they don’t want it; but because they lost sight of the greatness in them, lost esteem in their pursuit of it and failed to pay the relevant prices to attain it.
Now, when you fail to take hold of the greatness that is yours, it doesn’t just affect you alone; it affects others whose lives are tied to your becoming great. You shortchange those that require your greatness as a launch pad to become all that they are designed to be. You deny the next generation theleverage they would have gotten from your greatness thereby retarding their development and growth.
Understand that you have the deposit of greatness in you from God. It has nothing to do with who your parents are or the circumstances surrounding your birth. It’s a deposit in every of God’s creature like you. Let your mind be fixed on it, walk in that consciousness and do that you have to until the greatness becomes glaring.
Whether you realise this or not, I’d like you to know that I need you just as you need me to survive and become that which God has created me to be. My children need you and other members of the human society need you in one way or the other. You need to stand up and release what you’ve got to bless their lives.
The amount of challenges you may have encountered are not enough to keep you down unless you allow it. The reason is that there is a seed in you to become great and it doesn’t get destroyed by challenges. God deposited in you the capacity to deal with whatever challenges you may encounter. Your greatness doesn’t get lost because of your background. That’s why there are people with very little beginning; yet, have grown to become great and influential in life.
People may have written you off; that’s their problem! Their opinion about you doesn’t affect who you really turn out to become unless you pay attention to them as though they are gospel. They are free to think and say anything about you; but they don’t take away what you have inside you. They can’t kill the seed of greatness in you with their mouth unless you allow them.
My point?
Understand that you have the deposit of greatness in you from God. It has nothing to do with who your parents are or the circumstances surrounding your birth. It’s a deposit in every of God’s creature like you. Let your mind be fixed on it, walk in that consciousness and do that you have to until the greatness becomes glaring.
