CEDARS Group, a non denominational group of creative individuals spreading the gospel Christ in creative and impactful ways, is rewarding creative people this season with awards. The founder of the group, Egwu Nnanna Echem spoke with Brojid World’s Editor,  Joseph Dinwoke, on the event, the motivation and how to participate. Enjoy!

Let’s Meet You Sir.

I am Egwu Nnanna Echem an artiste and Spoken word poet signed with Pater’s Heritage and the Christ A Poet Team. I am privileged to be the Founder of the CEDARS Group.

What is CEDARS all about?

Basically, CEDARS is a nondenominational group of young talented and creative individuals. For now we are majored in the theatricals with artistes signed under categories of  Music, spoken word Poetry, Drama, Dance, Creative writing and design. Closest Futuristic prospects we have ranges from Artiste Management to screen productions, from event management to Media and Branding…

All these and more are with the aim of spreading the reach of the Gospel and affecting lives through entertainment which has become a very vital part of modern living.

Tell me about the Concert.

CEDARS Live In Concert is a platform which was built for the CEDARS Brand to show the world what we can do and what we are for. It then grew to accommodating other artistes for the unification of  gospel acts and the reach of our artistry and common ministry.

We had the maiden edition last year… It sold out! And we believe God for the very best of experience this year. The concert is also our way of saying thank you to all our supporters, partners and fans

Why the Live In Concert?

Okay… CEDARS get invitations to minister and present on various platforms ranging from churches, to NGO’s… But we didn’t have an event we called ours. When the inspiration came, it was for us to have a concert such that people see us LIVE and Direct.

What do participants have to gain from the event?

This year’s event was organised out of a high and popular demand. People who were around last year could attest to having an Experience of a lifetime… A Lady told us she got to find her purpose and self definition through the last one, a young student said he was encouraged to keep up with a dream he had discarded… In short, I was dumbfounded when some graduands were asked what their best experience in a day on campus was, and they said “CEDARS Live In Concert”…

It was encouraging for us, seeing people coming to the realization that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life… And accepting Him with Joy in their hearts.

Can I know the features of the Event?

In as much as we have been planning, we have also been praying… The event would feature the best of arts and entertainment both from CEDARS and invited guests that ranges from drama to dance, from spoken word poetry to music all packed up in the presence of God to minister to all who will be around. By the grace of God we believe there would be various life changing encounters that will affect society for the kingdom.

Why reward Gospel acts this year?

CEDARS as a nondenominational organization, have seen with first hand experience the struggles that comes with being a gospel artiste or group, we decided to honour some persons& groups according to what the general public nominate. With an aim of encouraging excellence and rewarding steadfastness.

To also let ministers know that in as much as we do all we do for God, it is for the edifying of the body of Christ and that body of Christ recognize and cherish their efforts

Okay… The event is on the 13th of May 2017, The venue is Ekpo Ref Convocation Arena UNN. Nominations for CEDARS Award Category is On going.
