Don’t Let Success Stop You

Success calls for celebration and rejoicing. It’s commendable and should be celebrated. However, Success turns into a disadvantage if we allow it keep us from reaching for greater success ahead of us. That’s why today on BrojidStepUp, I want to share with you how to ensure that success doesn’t become an obstacle for you and how to reach for greater success than you have ever attained.  

Although success is good, many people stop reaching for greater goals that they are capable of attaining because of their success of today. It’s a temptation that usually comes with success and you and I should come do our best to resists it. When we set goals and reach them; the euphoria of success turns into a disadvantage if you settle at the success.

There is no amount of success you get today that is the ultimate you can’t get as long as you are alive. You must reach out for more, plan and strategize to get more result until you go to meet the Lord. I believe that’s how God designed life to be. Little wonder he took the life of the rich fool who refused to reach for more farming success because of his great harvest.

Don’t let today’s success make you complacent; instead, let it always stand as proof of what you can achieve and become a spur for greater results. The fact that you have achieved something today should stand as testimony to the great abilities God has deposited in you to get even far greater results. David delivered his father’s sheep in the bush and that made him realize the enormous power of God available to him and his skilled hand in waging war.

If you settle for today’s success, you will wake up tomorrow to realize that you have been overtaken by your competitors. God will look at you with utter disappointment because you have refused to reach out to become all that he made you to be. In fact, like the rich fool, he may ask for the soul of your career, business or your life if you chose not to reach out for the more you can be.

When you reach for greater results and success, some people will call you ambitious, others will call you greedy. It’s their opinion and they are entitled to it. Just face where you are headed and continue in your pursuit until your beat your best! In life, many people are content with the little result they get because the majority of people around them have next to zero result. So their small result then appeared so big that they relaxed. You and I must not become that content.

Reaching out for more success is another striking lesson we can learn from Linda Ikeji. Despite the millions she is raking in from her blog, LindaIkejiBlog and the large followership she has built, she refused to settle for her today’s best and took a bold step to launch her social media platform, LindaIkejisocial.

You have built the best school, in your state; why not replicate it in all the state of Nigeria and other African countries? Your region now listens to your sermons on air, what’s wrong with taking it to the larger audience? If you got 80/100, it’s an A but nothing is wrong with reaching out for 100/100. At every point in our life, we must be careful not to settle on our present success and leave the more territories we need to cover.

My point?

Success is a good thing. Celebrate when you attain it. Buy yourself a Suya and Kunu. Pop something in worship of God. However, don’t allow the success you have recorded keep you from reaching for higher pedestal of achievement. Reach out for more success. As long as you live, always reach out for more success; stretch yourself to beat your best! Live in perpetual competition with your best self; until you go to be with God.
