ACTIVATING SUPERNATURAL SUPPLY IN ECONOMIC CRISES

The world is currently going through economic crises and it’s even biting harder in our clime where the weakening naira against the dollar has made the cost of living higher. This has landed many in financial crises and some people have lost hope in surviving our current economic situation.

That’s why this week on Scriptural Sense, we want to consider the concept of God’s supply to learn how to get supply for our needs and thrive despite the financial crises.

Understand the Supplier

One of the fundamental truths you need to bear in mind to enable you activate supernatural supply is to understand the true source of whatever you have now and will ever need.

I like you to know that the true source of your supply is not your employer, relations or friends, irrespective of what you have got from them. They are simply agents of delivering God’s supply to you.

How do I know?

The earth and everything on it belong to the LORD. The world and its people belong to him.  (Psa. 24:1CEV)

This implies that there is NOTHING on the earth that does not belong to him. He created the earth and at some point destroyed. He controls the flow of wealth and resources on the earth. He sent food to Elijah at the Brook Cherith, through a raven. The raven was not the provider; God was! The raven was just an agent for delivery.

He provided for the Israelite in the wilderness by sending manna and continued to provide for them in the Promised Land by ensuring that they have adequate supply of rain and protection from pests.

When Jesus Christ had the need to feed five thousand people, God provided for Him through the multiplied five breads and two fishes.

When yours sincerely needs money or any other thing, he provides for him. When he choose to be independent of his parents for finance, he had no job but faith in God and resolve to trade what God has given him. His trade couldn’t get him the money he needed; but God arranged events to get him enough money to meet his needs!

In deed God is the provider; not any human being, nation or government. However, he used human beings who are, at best, channels of supply. It is idol worship to look up to any human being as your source or expect your supply from agents God has used in the past. God may never want to use them in your life again; that’s why you should look away from them and look up to God for your supplies. He will appoint agents whenever he needs to.

Surviving Financial Hardship

When you find yourself in financial crises, there are two crucial things you should do – survive it and activate supernatural supply. The goal is to activate supernatural supply such that you will be immune to financial crises.

Here are four tips for surviving financial hardship:

Cut Your Coat According To Your Clothes

Don’t spend because anybody is spending. Spend primarily because you can afford it; not to maintain a standard or meet an expectation. Living above your means can be likened to a man in a pit still digging.

Adjust Your Lifestyle

You need to make adjustment in your spending lifestyle to reflect the economic realities. Cut off avoidable expenses. Invest your free time to increase your income. If possible postpone certain purchases; especially the ones that involve oversea transaction.

Improvise

When possible, make do with what you have and adapt something instead of buying. Try out barter if possible. Do something for someone in exchange for something in return; that way you cut down on spending.

Activating Supernatural Supplies

There are a number of steps you have to take to activate supernatural supplies. The most important step in activating supernatural supplies is knowledge and faith in God – the true source of supply. This enables you focus on Him and ask for your supply.

Call on God

God has given us the right to call on him in our days of trouble and he will come for our rescue. So, call him now that you are in financial trouble and you are sure to see him intervene. You may not need to go to church or get any ‘man of God’ to pray for you. Talk to God direct!

Please you don’t have to pay him to get it; simply ask God for it through Jesus Christ. Matt. 7:7

Locate Your Place of Supply

Your supplies are tied to the place God has sent you to. If you are not there, your supply will come but you will miss it. He instructed Elijah to go to Brook Cherith and there he got water in the area and God sent what is not in the environment through a raven. (1 King 17)

As you pray to God for supplies; he will impress in your heart works you can and have to do. He will direct you on steps you should take. Please don’t be too lazy to take it. Don’t be too unserious not to do it well.

Please know that your supplies are not tied to your geographical location; they are tied to where God has sent you per time. God may not speak to you audibly but the place He guides you to is the place He has sent you.

Locate the Platform for Your Supply

Many times God’s style of supplying to us is through the works of our hands. Locate the works of your hand and do it diligently. When you do work for people, do it as unto the Lord; knowing that God is the true paymaster and not the accountant general in the organization you work.

Don’t say the pay pack is small; your supplies does not depend on it. Do the work; collect whatever God gives you from the platform and walk with God while he makes arrangement for supplying all your need. Jesus collected the five loafs of bread and two fishes, thanked God and had abundance. Don’t curse the money you have! Don’t call your salary chicken change otherwise, it will be just enough to feed your chicken. *lol*

Don’t forget that God will supply all your needs according to his riches (not the economic situation in your country) in glory in Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:19)

Wait For Your Supplies

Wait on him for your supply. The fact that you don’t have your supply in your hands does not mean its not coming. It’s on its way! If you leave before it gets to your location, you will miss it. Stay tuned until your supplies get delivered to you!

It’s unfortunate that we can patiently wait on our ATM to dispense the money we requested but can’t wait for God to deliver the supplies we have requested. Please wait while God is processing your transaction!

When you become impatient, you cancel your supply and wallow in lack when God has supply package for you.

Don’t Cut short Your supply

Many times people cut themselves from supernatural supplies by the way they lead their lives.

One of the ways people cut themselves off from God’s supply is trust in man. You need to trust God to receive His supply. Trust in man is a sign that you have no faith in God and that incapacitate Him in your life.

I, the LORD, have put a curse on those who turn from me and trust in human strength.  They will dry up like a bush in salty desert soil, where nothing can grow. (Jer 17:5-6 CEV)

One of king’s official in the time of Elisha lacked faith in the power of God for supply said that God can’t bring economic turnaround in Israel. God still proved for his people but he didn’t partake of it; he died in the process! (2Kings 7)

Impatience is another reason many people don’t take delivery of their supply package. You need to wait on God while your supply is processing. Wait on God for what he has promised you; He does not fail; He can’t fail!

Before I leave you on Gospel Arena this week, let me remind you that God is the true source of your supplies not human being, organizations or a country. Look up to him for your supplies and forget human for once. You need faith in him and resolve to do your own bits to activate supernatural supply.

Almighty God we present our present economic situation as a nation before you. God may you come to our rescue. Give our leaders wisdom that will turn around our fortunes. If our economic situation is your judgment on us as a nation, please have mercy on us. Make supernatural supply available to us all the days of our lives in Jesus name.
