WHO SAID YOU ARE DISADVANTAGED?
Many times I have seen people who think that they are limited in how far they can fly or how great they can be on the earth just because of what they call disadvantages in their lives. But having observed life for some time now and studied history, I have come to understand that no man is truly disadvantaged. That there is nobody that has something inherently wrong with him that will keep him from being great. To explain this truth is the thrust of this article.
No man is truly disadvantaged except the one who sees variation in his life, circumstances of birth, family as excuses for not reaching out to be all that he is created to be. That is the truly disadvantaged man is one who because he lacks what some persons have believed that he is limited in what he can be.
It’s not really one who lacks particular organ body part, but the one who thinks that that is enough limitation that can keep him from reaching the pinnacle of success God has destined him to get to.
How do I know?
There are so many people who fall into the category of what we term disadvantaged but became far more useful in life than others who are considered advantaged. In fact, what we call disadvantage is usually God’s platform and design to form into us distinct personality He has created us to be. That is why we should not see them as excuses for not becoming all that we are capable of becoming.
Many of the world’s greatest and most influential people had what we term disadvantages in life, but surmounted them to become what they are today. In fact, we consider their story very interesting to read or listen to because they became great despite their disadvantages.
A world-renowned surgeon, Ben Carson was raised by his mother after she was divorced by her husband. From what Ben described in his book, you will see that his father is a kind of person that will give him the privilege to do essentially what he wants but not his mother. His mother’s restrictions and strict upbringing are what eventually made him what he is today. Being raised by a single parent became an advantage to him.
If you desire to be great, but your parents are essentially poor and can hardly afford to provide your basic needs, you are not disadvantaged. You are given the opportunity to learn, first hand, how it feels to grow from poor homes and learn how to manage resources. If you could not go to a good school, it may be God’s design to get you to see the impact of bad school since He has created you to be a school builder.
You are not disadvantaged because you lack what some persons have; after all, they also lack what you have. Your business in life is to take all that God has given you and put them to use in becoming all that you were created to be.

Don’t believe the lie that because you schooled in a place like Nigeria, you are not disadvantaged when placed side by side with your colleague in the world. Tony Elumulu schooled up till his Master’s Degree level in Nigeria he is a world-renowned banker and entrepreneur.
Eddie Iroh, was not born by educated parents. “Neither my father nor my mother had any education.” He said in an interview. An average person gives it as an excuse for not being all that they were created to be but not Eddie. He went to school and became a success story in his field, media.
Sunny Obazu Ojegbase lost his mother and his father could not send him to school after primary school. But he did not give up on life thinking he is disadvantaged. Today, he has become a successful journalist and publisher, millionaire and make of millionaires
Cobhams Asuquo was born blind and instead of feeling that he is disadvantaged and handicapped, he put his listening advantage to use and have been producing music for high-profile singers like Asa. He is a songwriter signed with Sony ATV London as a songwriter.
My friend, stop looking at what God did not give you; look closely and find out what you have and then start working towards your destiny with those tools. That way, generation after will read your story as one of the success stories.
The truth is that no matter where you were born and the circumstances surrounding your birth, you are not disadvantaged at all. That is why you must stop looking down on yourself and thinking low of what God has deposited in you.
Don’t listen to anybody who tells you or make you look like you are disadvantaged because you are not. What many people call disadvantage is only a variation in your life which is important for building you to become all that you are destined to be.
