Prepared to be Lucky?

Prepared to be Lucky?

There is hardly any human that doesn’t like to be lucky and it feels good when luck smiles at you. However, luck doesn’t smile at people randomly; you must qualify for it to enjoy it. On BrojidStepUp today, I like to share with you insight on how to position yourself to be lucky.

Luck has been described as preparation meeting opportunity. That’s not a lie; but I believe it’s more like the manifestation of God’s blessing to those that are ready to hold it.

Many of us want to experience the kind of luck many big people we look up to; but we cannot because we have failed to prepare ourselves for the luck that is available to all mankind.  Luck won’t meet you while you are at home doing nothing but pray and confess. No doubt those are important; but are not substitute to the need to prepare yourself for the opportunity that God presents us.

You see, before you experience big breakthrough that will make you qualify to be called lucky, you must have positioned yourself where it will meet you by preparation. Luck is not a chance occurrence; it’s not an arbitrary dissemination of favour among people. It’s God’s way of extending His help to those that have put in their best.

In most cases, you just need to learn how to get your key work done. You need to acquire relevant skills. You need to study enough materials to have adequate knowledge to seize the opportunity when it comes knocking on your door.  You need to develop yourself to be able to solve problems and add value to people; so that when an opportunity comes for someone like you; you will be available and ready.

Beyond knowledge and skill, you need to persist at doing what you should so that when opportunity comes, it will meet you where you should be. God will come with your reward in due season and am sure you won’t be happy to find that he has come with your reward; but you have given up persisting in your place of opportunity.

There is hardly anything that happens in life that is a chance occurrence. That’s why most people that fold their arms waiting for chance, never had a chance in big places of life. Life has been designed by God to reward one who has persisted in proving faithful in the little work he has at hand with bigger opportunities and platforms for manifestations.

Luck is not a chance occurrence; it’s prepared for. When you prepare yourself for it, the world will call you lucky. They will call you favoured. Invest your time, money and efforts at developing your capacity so as to effectively position yourself to cash in on any opportunity that comes your way.

Luck can smile on you the next minute; but before then, you have to invest your time, energy and resources in developing yourself to be prepared to utilize such opportunities. If you are not prepared, they will come; but will elude you. If you lack the capacity to be secretary and your father is in the position to employ a secretary, you don’t have a chance; unless he wants to risk his reputation with the mediocre you.

Many people describe Linda Ikeji’s success at blogging as a chance occurrence; but that’s not true. As early as 2006, she could use the computer and access the internet. A link to BellaNaija was sent to her by mail before she knew what blogging was. She was passionate about writing, discovered a platform to write and was prepared to use.

Now that you have no opportunities and connections; settle down and invest your time, money and energy into learning; improving your skills and knowledge base so that when opportunities come knocking; it will wonder, Where have you been hidden since?

My point?

Luck is not a chance occurrence; it’s prepared for. When you prepare yourself for it, the world will call you lucky. They will call you favoured. Invest your time, money and efforts at developing your capacity so as to effectively position yourself to cash in on any opportunity that comes your way.
